New fires bring season total to 50.
11 new wildfires were reported across the Yukon this weekend, bringing the season total to 50.
Lightning is the culprit for the ignition of flames, however fire crews were able to contain the fires to a small size or burning in a wilderness zone.
A 19 person crew from BC continue to monitor a blaze roughly 16 kilometers south of Dawson City.
And a fire burning close to the Dempster Highway, on both sides, may force the roadway to close on short notice at KM 284.
