The construction is expected to be completed in mid-November.
A passenger bridge at the Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport is being replaced and work is expected to be completed in mid-November.
According to the Ministry of Highways and Public Works, the bridge being replaced was constructed in 1984 and the newer bridge being built will be powered by a ground-power unit and will have greater energy efficiency.
The bridge is situated at the southern terminal building, and comprises one of two passenger bridges at the airport.
Minister of Highways and Public Works Richard Mostyn says "strategic investments will help enhance the airport infrastructure are vital to meeting the current and future needs of Yukon communities.
No flights or airport traffic are expected to be impacted by construction.
