Shaun LaDue says Government should consult on settlement
The organizer of the 60's Scoop survivor's meetings here in Whitehorse says the federal government should conduct a second round of consultations on how to address the $750 million settlement. Between 1951 and 1991, First Nations and Inuit children were forcibly taken from their families and adopted into non-native homes. Ottawa's offer would amount to approximately $25,000 to $50,000 per individual claimant. Yet Shaun Ladue spoke to Chuck Hendrie about the meeting and settlement.
