Yukon Gov to Develop Own Pot Legislation

Regulation on if marijuana will be sold in stores not yet known.

The Yukon is currently in the policy development stage for drafting recreational marijuana legislation.

But what that will look like is unknown. Justice Minister Tracey McPhee could not say if the proposed legislation will allow for retail sale of pot.

She says an internal working group is now studying the matter, calling it a top priority for her department, as the federal government says their legislation will be in place next July.

A timeline on when the working group will finish or when a Bill will be tabled has not yet been set.
